I WAS OVERWHELMED
November 17, 2024People who move me to tears at the first meeting and at the same time trigger confidence and enthusiasm in me.
The first eye contact with Dr. jur. Asmaa El Idrissi occurred when I asked at the beginning of my keynote in Frankfurt – hosted by Women4Knowledge – “Who was born here in Germany?”
She raised her hand confidently… her look, her radiance and her curiosity reached me immediately.
During the break we exchanged ideas briefly. She told me that she was already reading my book. I was deeply touched and offered to give her a copy with a personal dedication, as she had already paid for it. But she insisted on paying again and said, “That’s how I’ll support you.” – Wow. I was at a loss for words.
When I later read her post, which she had published after the event, I understood why I had such an extraordinarily empathetic woman in front of me. I realized that she deliberately enters such spaces to broaden her perspective.
It confirmed what I firmly believe in: the magic of encounters unfolds when we approach each other with curiosity and openness – with the intention of understanding each other and shaping our society together – for our children and grandchildren.
Her words resonate🙏🏽❤️ in me – see post below in the comment section👇🏾
Dear Asmaa El Idrissi, you show greatness by consciously entering other spaces, taking a step back, listening and being🌷❤️ inspired.
Wow. I work on this every day.
I am glad that you, Asmaa El Idrissi, are reaching even more people with your work as a lecturer and speaker for DEI.
Now to you, dear reader: How well do you manage to change perspectives in your everyday work so that we understand each other better and can be successful together?
