“IF I MADE IT…
July 20, 2022“ALL FORBIDDEN
August 19, 2022Isn’t it wonderful that we always ask ourselves this question, whether we have a lot of money or not?
In my lectures, I always tell a story about the #project of my life, in which almost one important question held me back:
“What do I wear?”.
Since I didn’t have anything appealing myself, I was allowed to ask my neighbors about it and they saved the project for me.
At this point I always wonder what it would be like to ask my neighborhood about the dress today.
The idea of throwing her off the hook is amusing. Vice versa too.
Back to the topic:
what do i wear
Years ago, when I was still participating in many running events, we were always welcomed as guests by my husband’s uncle – an excellent runner.
The host, also very humorous, always asked the day before:
“Yeah, and the most important question is: what do we wear?”.
Because it was like that, we laughed heartily about it.
For my part, I took a lot with me and made a decision at the last minute.
You have no idea what the most difficult decision can be for me: don’t spend money or stop a project, but what do I wear?
Superficial? Not for me at all: the right clothes decide on my performance.
In the dark even about my safety, honestly :-).
What does that have to do with diversity?
Realizing that we all have the same basic needs, the same questions, albeit in different contexts, takes the pressure off of connecting with others.
Inspired by conversations with Petra Kerstin L. 😊🙏🏽 this quote from me is now part of my book that is still being written:
“If you remind yourself daily that everyone, whether native or non-native, has the same organic needs, then you will have no hesitation in encountering them. If you think – shaped by your environment – that others are superior or inferior to you, then imagine you are together in a forgotten forest, naked at that. In this scenario, you are totally dependent on each other, aren’t you?”
What are you wearing today? Courage to color 🙂
