CAN YOU PLEASE HELP ME WITH MY ZIPPER?
June 30, 2024ARE YOU READING YOUR OWN BOOK AGAIN?
July 28, 2024“Man, the train is full today.”
“It was exhausting, the café was too crowded for me.”
Have you said these and similar sentences to yourself? Annoyed that your favorite beach, favorite mountain, favorite riverside path, favorite train or favorite café is too crowded?
I used to ask myself what people in this country have against many people around them. Then there was a phase in which I thought the same thing – something I didn’t expect to get me.
Whether it was age or a successful integration is still open…
Especially when you’re looking for your calm (which other people don’t know about and, as hard as it is, aren’t interested), you’re likely to feel annoyed and angry. Then there is also the waiting, which we have forgotten over time.
However, if I quickly leave my whining phase and accept the situation as it is, I am sure I will find another solution. For example, buy “express tickets”, give feedback to the operators or look for quieter places.
If you just buy the first-class ticket and can’t find a seat there yet, it hurts even more. I understand that.
But as always in a diverse world, there are several ways to see something.
After letting myself be challenged mainly by my children, I learned to see like this:
“Hey, it’s great that many people are going out.”
“Hey, it’s great that many want to take the train.”
“Hey, it’s great that many people sit down in a café to exchange ideas. The café team is looking forward to it anyway.”
It’s a different way of seeing things that we can’t change immediately anyway. In conversations, I also listen to the stories of others and, if appropriate, add the other side at the end – just so that I stay tuned and don’t start whining again.
And you, are you more in the team “Man, is it full here” or in the team
“Hey, it’s great that many people go out”?
Or both, depending on the situation?
I look forward to your experiences when you can’t have the order you want right now.
Especially now in the summer holidays, I learn something new every day.
