“Of course you can, touch 10 euros, look at 1 euro.”
OK, such “clever” answers never come to my mind when I need them :-).
There are questions that strike us as odd. Is this an unconscious bias?
NO, I say, that’s CURIOSITY, the first step so that we get involved with each other.
I often respond to this and great connections emerge from it.
This is the only way we can also address critical issues in the company without fear.
There was a time when I was even more “different” in Germany and Kenya at the same time.
I’m lucky that people in Germany encouraged me, unconsciously. Reactions were:
1: “What a great hairstyle! May I touch it?”
2: “Your hair is super cool but it’s destroying our hairdressing shops”
3: “Do you have a license for this?”
4: “If that were my child… Something like that doesn’t work at all”
5: “You’ll never get a job with that hair”
There is no lived diversity if we do not allow others to ask questions. Without any drama.
May I ask you a question today?
